HAT MAKES THIS RIDE DIFFERENT?
First of all, our event is a “ride”, not a race. Riders participate for a lot of reasons: some for the challenge of riding further on a mountain bike than ever before, some because they love the Rwanda cause, some for the fun of sharing the day with all of their riding buddies. Second, our event is a fundraiser. We’ve raised over $860,000 for Team Africa Rising and World Bicycle Relief in our first 10 events. These funds are used to further the economic development of Rwanda and other African nations through initiatives based on the bicycle as a tool and symbol of hope.
WILL YOU JOIN US?
Our Rwanda Ride provides riders, sponsors, and their families an opportunity to make a real difference just by doing something they already love doing. Last year we had 1292 participants – and we want to break that record this year.
To raise funds and build awareness for Team Africa Rising and Qhubeka.*
ALTERNATE RAIN DATE
It hasn’t rained on our party yet. But the weather has been kind of unpredictable this year. So not wanting to take any chances, we have an alternate “rain date” of Saturday May 6 2017 – to be used ONLY if the park trails are closed on our scheduled date. We’ll keep you posted as the date gets near.
After the ride join us for our famous post-ride PARTY. We’ll have a HUGE raffle with tons of cool prizes donated by our generous sponsors. Plus, we’ll have massage therapists, games, bike shop expo, cold drinks and hot music. Bring your friends and family to share in the fun!
